Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Jada Rides collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Jada Rides rider app and the Jada Rides driver app. It applies to both apps. Where a section is specific to riders or to drivers, it is clearly labelled.
1. Who we are
Jada Rides ("Jada Rides", "we", "us", or "our") operates a ride-hailing service in Nigeria that connects riders who need a trip with drivers who provide it. 2. Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to run the service safely and reliably.
Information you give us
- Phone number: You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code (OTP). We use this to create and secure your account.
- Profile details: Your name, and optionally your email address and a profile photo.
- Driver-only details: If you are a driver, we also collect your date of birth (to confirm you are at least 18), your identity and vehicle documents (driver's licence, government ID, vehicle registration, insurance, roadworthiness certificate), vehicle information (make, model, year, colour, plate, category), vehicle photos, and your bank account details for payouts.
Information we collect automatically
- Location: When the app is in use, we collect GPS location so we can match trips, show pickup and drop-off points, draw the route, and let riders and drivers see each other on the map during a trip. The driver app shares the driver's live location while the driver is online or on a trip.
- Trip and payment records: Pickup and destination addresses, fares, payment method (cash or bank transfer), and trip history.
- Device and usage data: Basic device information and app activity used to keep the service working.
- Diagnostic data: Crash reports and error logs that help us find and fix problems.
3. How we use your information
- To create your account and sign you in securely.
- To match riders with nearby drivers and manage the trip from request to completion.
- To calculate fares, process payments, and pay drivers.
- To show real-time location, routes, and estimated times during a trip.
- To review and approve driver applications and documents.
- To send you trip updates and account notifications.
- To keep the service safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
- To diagnose technical problems and improve the apps.
4. Information specific to riders
As a rider, your name, phone number, and live pickup location are shared with the driver matched to your trip so they can find and contact you. Your destination and route are used to estimate the fare and guide the trip. Your saved recent destinations are stored on your own device.
5. Information specific to drivers
As a driver, your name, vehicle details, photo, and live location are shared with riders so they can identify your vehicle and track your arrival. Your documents and background information are reviewed by our team for approval and safety checks, and are not shown to riders. Your earnings and bank details are used only to process your payouts.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:
- Between riders and drivers: Limited details (name, location, vehicle for drivers) are shared so a trip can happen, as described above.
- Payment processing: We use Paystack to handle bank-transfer charges and driver payouts. Payment details you provide are processed by Paystack under their own privacy terms.
- Maps and location services: We use Google Maps and Google location services to power addresses, routes, and the map.
- Hosting and infrastructure: We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, notifications, and crash reporting) to run the apps.
- Legal reasons: We may share information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.
7. Notifications
With your permission, we send push notifications about your trips and account (for example, when a driver is matched or a payment is confirmed). You can turn notifications off in your device settings.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as long as we need it to provide the service, meet legal and financial record-keeping duties, and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
9. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: You can view and update much of your profile information inside the app.
- Location: You can control location access through your device settings. Note that the core ride features cannot work without location.
- Account deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time at jadaride.com/delete-account, or by emailing us at web79.tech@gmail.com.
10. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including secure authentication, encrypted connections, and access controls that limit who can view sensitive data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices regularly.
11. Children
Jada Rides is not intended for anyone under 18. Drivers must be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Jada Rides after an update means you accept the revised policy.
